St Mary’s Church

Address: Churchfield Road, Appledore, EX39 1RL

Directions: Appledore's Parish Church of St Mary stands beside St. Mary’s Hall but is set back from the road. It is easily visible from the road and the nearby car park.

Nearest Parking: Street parking in Churchfield Road or Appledore Quay.
Car parking in Churchfield Car Park (2 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The Church is on one level, but there is a small step at the entrance.
Stewards will be happy to help disabled visitors.
Please let a steward know if your disability requires a seat with extra leg-room.
If you have a back problem, please feel free to bring your own cushion.

St. Mary’s Hall

Address: Churchfield Road, Appledore, EX39 1RL

Directions: St. Mary's Hall is an old school building clearly visible from the road and from the main Car Park beside the river.
The Book Festival Cafe is run from here for the duration of the Festival.
You will find the Playground at the back of the Hall through the café.
There is a level access for wheelchairs at the rear of the building.

Car parking in Churchfield Car Park (2 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: There is a small flight of steps up to the front entrance of the Hall
Wheelchair users will need to enter the building from the rear, but will require assistance of a steward.

Appledore Hall

Address: Myrtle Street, Appledore, EX39 1PH

Directions: The 'Appledore Hall' at the bottom of the hill as you come into Appledore.
It's on the right-hand side of the road next to the Appledore Social Club.

Nearest Parking: Street parking in Myrtle Street or Marine Parade.
Car parking in Odun Road Car Park (5 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: Wheelchair users please use the entrance in the yard at the front of the building. The rest of the venue is on the level.

Appledore Social Club

Address: Myrtle Street, Appledore, EX39 1PH

Directions: The Appledore Social and Sports Club can be found at the bottom of the hill as you come into Appledore. It’s on the right-hand side of the road next to the Appledore Hall.

Nearest Parking: Street parking in Myrtle Street or Marine Parade. Car parking in Odun Road Car Park (5 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The Social Club entrance has a small flight of steps up to the main entrance. Once inside, it is on one level.

Baptist Chapel

Address: Meeting Street, Appledore, EX39 1RJ

Directions: Appledore Baptist Chapel stands in the small square beside the churchyard.
Public access is from the front entrance in Meeting Street, where there is a disabled ramp.

Nearest Parking: Street parking in Churchfield Road or on Appledore Quay.
Car parking in Churchfield Car Park (2 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The Baptist Chapel is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

Blue Lights Hall

Address: Vernons Lane Appledore, EX39 1QU

Directions: The Blue Lights Hall is tucked away at the bottom of this quaint narrow lane near the junction with Market Street. Car access is not possible because these streets are too narrow. People with reduced mobility should be dropped off at the bottom of Vernons Lane where it meets Appledore Quay.

Wheelchair Accessibility: We regret that this venue is not suitable for full wheelchair access.

Appledore Library

Address: The Quay, Appledore, EX39 1QS

Directions: Appledore Library is situated in the centre of Appledore Quay, near to the main Churchfields Car Park.

Nearest Parking: Car parking in Churchfield Car Park (4 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The entrance has a single step, but inside the library is all on one level.

Docton Court

Address: 2 Myrtle Street, Appledore, EX39 1PH

Directions: Docton Court Gallery is at the bottom of the hill as you drive into Appledore. Look out for an Antique shop on your left hand side. The Box Office is within Docton Court Gallery, two doors back from there, in an enclosed Courtyard.

Nearest Parking: Street parking in Myrtle Street or Marine Parade. Car parking in Odun Road Car Park (5 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The entrance has a single step, please use the 'disabled bell' outside if you require assistance. Once inside, it is on one level.

Bensons Restaurant

Address: 20 The Quay, Appledore, EX39 1QS

Directions: Bensons Restaurant is situated in the centre of Appledore Quay, near to the main Churchfields Car Park.

Nearest Parking: Car parking in Churchfield Car Park (2 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The entrance has a single step, but inside the restaurant is all on one level.

The Seagate

Address: The Quay, Appledore, EX39 1QS

Directions: The Seagate is situated at the far end of Appledore Quay, near to the main Churchfields Car Park.

Nearest Parking: Car parking in Churchfield Car Park (1 minute walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The Seagate Hotel has a step at the front entrance, and the main restaurant is up a short flight of stairs.

The Beaver Inn

Address: 85 Irsha Street, Appledore, EX39 1RY

Directions: The Beaver Inn is in Irsha Street and can be reached by a five minute walk from Churchfield Car Park. (Please note that Irsha Street is only just wide enough for a single car and should not be used for traffic except to drop off people with reduced mobility).

Nearest Parking: Car Parking in Torridge Road Car Park (3 minutes walk), or Churchfield Car Park (5 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The entrance has a single step, and whilst the main restaurant area is up a flight of 5 steps, there is an external ramp to access this from outside.

The Royal George Pub

Address: Irsha Street, Appledore, EX39 1RY

Directions: The Royal George is in Irsha Street and can be reached by a five minute walk from Churchfield Car Park. (Please note that Irsha Street is only just wide enough for a single car and should not be used for traffic, except to drop off people with reduced mobility).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The Royal George is all on one level, and is accessible to wheelchair users.

Appledore Gallery

Address: 31 Bude Street, Appledore, EX39 1PS

Directions: Bude Street is one of the streets leading up from Appledore Quay. Easy to find - just ask!

Nearest Parking: Car parking in Odun Road Car Park (3 minutes walk).

Wheelchair Accessibility: The entrance has a step, and the passageway is narrow. Not suitable for wheelchair users.
