ABF Short Story Competition 2014
The Appledore Book Festival is proud to announce the 2014 Short Story Competition, open to anyone aged 16 and under.
The story, on any theme, must be an original work of fiction by the entrant, and must be no longer than 500 words. Stories will be judged in two age categories, 11 and under and 12–16.
There will be a bronze, silver and gold winner in each category. The winners will receive book tokens. Gold winners to the value of £50, Silver £35 and bronze £20. In addition the gold winners will receive £100 of book tokens for their school library.
Copies of the winning stories will be displayed in St Mary’s Hall, Appledore, during the Festival.
We are pleased to announce the Short Story judges for 2014:

- Susan Sandon: Managing Director of Cornerstone Publishing & Board Director of Random House Publishing.
- Patricia Millner: Co-Chair of the Appledore Book Festival
All short stories together with the entry form should be submitted no later than Thursday July 31st 2014.
