1. St. Mary’s Hall
Churchfield Road
Appledore

St. Mary's Hall is an old school building clearly visible from the road and from the large Churchfield Car Park beside the river.
St. Mary’s Hall consists of three halls. The front hall is the Appledore Book Festival Green Room where authors can rest before and after their events. The middle Hall is the location of the Appledore Festival Bookshop operated by Walter Henry’s Bookshop of Bideford and The Bookshop Café. The large hall is where events will take place. There is a level access for wheelchairs at the rear of the building.

Nearest Parking - Churchfield Car Park

2. St. Mary’s Church
Churchfield Road
Appledore

The Church stands beside St. Mary’s Hall but more set back from the road. It is easily visible from the road.

Nearest Parking - Churchfield Car Park

3. British Legion Hall
Myrtle Street
Appledore

The British Legion Hall – also known as Appledore Hall stands at the point where Newquay Street joins Myrtle Street. The Hall is very slightly set back from the road but clearly visible.

Nearest Parking – there is limited roadside parking on the Quay and Myrtle Street, but visitors are advised if at all possible to use the car parks in Odun Road and Churchfield. Both involve a five-minute walk. The walk from Churchfield is more level but the Odun Road car park involves a steep walk.

4. The Beaver Inn
Irsha Street
Appledore

The Beaver stands on the river side of Irsha Street. It may be reached by a five-minute walk from Churchfield Car Park. Please note that Irsha Street is only just wide enough for a single car and should not be used for traffic except to drop off people with reduced mobility.

Nearest Parking

There is a car park off Torridge Road. Alternatively use Churchfield Car Park.

5. The Blue Lights Hall
Vernons Lane
Appledore

The Blue Lights Hall is tucked away at the bottom of this quaint narrow lane near the junction with Market Street. Car access is difficult because these streets are narrow and should only be attempted to drop off people with reduced mobility. The nearest parking is in Churchfield Car Park and a five minute walk is required.

6. The Baptist Chapel
Appledore

Appledore Baptist Chapel stands in the small square beside the churchyard. The entrance from the square has three steps. There is a disabled ramp at the entrance in Meeting Street. The nearest parking is Churchfield Car Park.
